More Weeding of the Data Base

We have written previously how we have flushed the OLD lines ( or old PN Codes-Sub Lines ) of parts that are now carried in the consolidated part # for both Advance Auto Parts and CARQUEST.

Now we have gotten down to  the small stuff …. PN Codes that lack a decimal ( usually a carry over from j-Con computer days …. items with a 0 or 9 in the sales movement codes.  There were parts we had to do work on ( items on hand or with a re-order point ) but for the most part just a bunch of weeds we need to thin out of our active inventory file.  Since we look at the data in excel ..it is handy to have less junk.   Most jobbers never realize how much junk their active file has … it is only when you dump the data to excel you see it.  And boy — do you see it.

The handy option to ADD a PN Code if not there is a real advantage and we thank whomever pushed to get that option added to DFIU.
