When talking with other jobbers ..we are suggesting this change ….
Situation: If a store sets a level ( order point ) for a part in Exploris – but the DC doesn’t stock it ..the DC cancels the order … but Exploris continues to order …the DC continues to cancel … and so on until …. and so on …. get the picture …:-(
Options…. they create a NEW report … for every valid part number a store has on a PO ( therefore a stocking level at the store ) that is CANCELLED by ADIS at the DC because the DC doesn’t carry that part …print out the list ( daily ) and have someone review.
Action – that person does
a) contact the store and ask the stock level be removed ( maybe int he case of an obsolete part or ??
b) add the stock level order point for the DC … the part in question will be picked up on the 2nd attempt to order
This will rapidly boost the missing holes in the DC’s stock …. I am truly amazed at the number of holes we find in the DC when we look carefully at outside purchases.
