Who is killing Desc #2 ??

We had assumed that flushing out Description #2 was a normal part of whatever CARQUEST does on a price change or other file update.

We had started to put data into desc. #2 that is somewhat useful – see example for a Walker part were we get the sales ranking from Walker and add it in ..and in this case the part is stocked in 1 store on a list of parts suggested by our Walker sales rep …

So –I was surprised when I asked someone in Raleigh why they do it ..and they said they don’t …. he dug deeper and sent this …

I was able to speak with someone in Exploris Support and there is nothing that is sent in updates that would wipe out Description 2, besides a replacement.

….. so now my hunt for the person who keeps flushing Desc #2 in Canada continues .. a note to Vince Salfi and we shall see if we can solve a problem for our stores anyways …  anyone asking how we update the Desc #2 with such data …. use DFIU for the import …really handy….

========================= update =======================

Talking with Vince in Toronto and he isNO aware of who or why the Desc #2 is getting flushed …send request back to Exploris help desk.

Here is Example …. we date our data dumps and have started to use the Report written to get additional columns of info ( like Desc #2 ) …. the date is in the Excel file name … here is Walker from 27th of July

Who is doing this and why …and how do we get them to stop … please ….

NOTE –we have re-set the Walker data … have yet to re-add the MONROE data until we get this problem solved …
