Deleting parts …update …weed the junk

The ability to delete parts has been a great addition.  To flush out old and replaced by cleans up the data that we review in excel.  In fact out stores have less than 50,000 for active parts … match that with your store … dare you  ….

One point we recently called the help desk on ( call #692-8127 ) was why some parts remained … they show zero on hand – zero order point …  well ..turns out they were part of a Purchase order that is still outstanding for some other part.  So our best option …wait …and keep flushing these parts …

As mentioned before – we added a PN Code ( sub line ) 999 for junk for each line ( something you can do using DFIU ) and then we run a global A-Z all lines for PN Code 999.

You have to weed your garden ….flush the junk out of your system … ( small point … when you delete older replaced by sub line or complete lines … you will loose your sales data on Reports>Inventory>PN Code report …this is usually for the previous year and we can live with that … so don’t believe the sales growth this report is telling you 🙂
