When Parts Notes were added some years ago – the adoption of their use was slow at our 4 stores … but the more we use them the more uses we can see a great use for them … mainly for counter staff help.
For instance … special notes about torquing a bolt to something special ( which we print on the invoice as well ) – or for sourcing an alternate part when we want more ATTENTION that the standard ‘Alternate’ gives the staff
BUT — with CoVid and the crazy parts shortages we are seeing .. it would be REALLY REALLY REALLY nice to have the ‘PURCHASING NOTE’ actually do something … ( anything ?? call # 420644 to Exploris help desk that went all the way to Autologue and back .. )
For Instance … in a Back Order report … how about the sales movement code ( sales class ) and ANY Parts Notes …that flag attention for the person on what they need to do on optional sourcing to fill the stock … that would be a pretty nice start to a system that could and should be better than it is for us
Another small nit picking issue –if you have multiple stores … how about a way to add a note to some/all stores … like we do to add a sub line ( PN Code ) …. and then a way to modify nd delete the same note .. once … not 10 times if you have 10 stores … what a waste of manpower.
