After 8* years — we can delete parts in Exploris ( we were one of the last to adopt to Exploris – so we are only on it for 5 years ) … has anyone tried the delete option for parts ?
Our 3 stores have deleted more than 200,000 parts … of which 35,000 are CARQUEST parts ( x 3 stores = 105,000 sku’s in our data base )
So –any down side ? The reports are smaller … but there are some down sides that we are not quite sure … for example one of the problems that took WHI this long to figure out how to delete parts ..is that reports LINK to the LIVE part … and if you delete that part -then that report has a problem ….
Greg Guyitt at Auto Barn is noticing that while LISA reports are Ok …he sees some problems on PATI and Parts Ledger reports looking for a part that has been deleted … he has found that if he ADDS the part back again from the non-active sku data base in F-8 Parts Info screen … then he can find the info he wants info the Parts Ledger or PATI report … if you have anything to add .please drop Greg a note at ‘sales(at)autobarn(dot)ca’
