Making DFIU work better

DFIU is the program that allows jobbers to import data for their X lines ….  As far as I can tell only a small fraction of jobbers use this – mainly to their LACK of knowledge in Excel ….

Anyways – we are trying to improve our data in X lines … and noticed we can NOT import sales (movement code ) class … the 1.1 thru 8.9 data we are used to in normal CARQUEST lines.  So -call # 232 1923 to be added as an enhancement ( well – one can dream …at least it is posted for IT to know )

We came up with a clunky way to see if we can make this work –by adding the  sales movement data to the end of the description… the number 12 at the front of the description also serves a purpose –as DFIU and EXPLORIS have no way to tell us what parts DO NOT UPDATE … remember J-Con did a great job on this .. parts that do NOT UPDATE might be a) disc by supplier  or b) mistake  or c) ??   anyway you lok at it – at some point in time we will need WEED OUT bad data in X lines … and parts originally added and no longer updated will be a weed that needs to be pulled ( on that wonderful day that we can start deleting crap from our system ).  PS -you ask what a 9 is …a part we didn’t have in our main line …so we pulled a 9 to represent a slow seller

ps – Jobbers – moral of storey — LEARN EXCEL …..
